"The most user-friendly Revit AI plugin out there. Extremely useful across so many day-to-day tasks — it's becoming invaluable for my practice."Wood Studio · residential architecture, Seattle WA
What's included
No add-ons. No hidden Claude costs passed through. Pro and Enterprise don't gate features — they add infrastructure control: where your data lives, and where your AI runs.
Why the value compounds
Any AI can know the software. After a year with BIM Monkey, it knows your firm — your callout positions, your permit set layouts, your senior architect's preferences. That knowledge doesn't exist anywhere else, and it compounds with every project you add.
When a senior architect overrides an output — moves a callout, adjusts a line weight, rewrites a note — that correction is captured and applied to every future drawing. One catch teaches the whole system. Every project after is faster than the last.
BIM Monkey doesn't enforce a generic drafting standard. It learns the one your firm has been developing for years — from approved permit sets, redlines, and project corrections. After a few months, the output looks like your firm drew it.
Standards live at the firm level, not the user level. No onboarding engagement, no consultants — upload your permit sets and first setup takes about ten minutes. New hires run the same trained system senior architects built. What used to live in people's heads is now durable, automatically applied, and impossible to lose to turnover.
Banana Chat is a Revit-native AI agent built on Claude with domain-specific tooling, firm memory, and direct model write access. It lives inside Revit as a floating panel — you describe what you want in plain language and it executes directly in the model: building and compiling custom scripts, placing views on sheets, tagging elements, running code checks, generating vicinity maps, and more.
Revit 2024, 2025, 2026, and 2027. The installer detects your version automatically. All four are included with every plan — no extra charge for running multiple versions.
BIM Monkey has two parts. The Revit plugin runs entirely on your machine — it connects Claude Code to Revit through a local named pipe, and your model file never leaves your computer. The only external calls are the Claude API requests you initiate, which go directly to Anthropic under your own API key. The web app at app.bimmonkey.ai is cloud-based and handles your firm dashboard, training uploads, and project notes.
Yes. If you run Revit inside a Windows virtual machine on your Mac (Parallels Desktop is the most common setup), BIM Monkey installs and runs the same way it would on a Windows PC. The plugin is a standard Revit add-in — it doesn't know or care whether it's inside a VM. API calls go through Parallels' bridged network, which uses your Mac's internet connection. On first launch you may see a Windows SmartScreen prompt; click "More info" then "Run anyway" — the installer is signed with a DigiCert EV certificate.
On Standard and Pro, yes. BIM Monkey works through Claude Code, which requires an Anthropic API key. You pay Anthropic directly for usage — most firms spend $20–60/month depending on session volume. That cost is separate from your BIM Monkey subscription and is not marked up. On Enterprise with Private AI enabled, workstations don't need an Anthropic key at all — inference runs in your own AWS or Google Cloud account and bills to your cloud invoice.
Data Residency (Pro) — your firm's database and drawing images live in a Postgres database and storage bucket you own, in the region or cloud you choose (AWS RDS, Supabase, or any Postgres 14+). BIM Monkey connects with credentials you control and can revoke. Private AI (Enterprise) — AI processing itself runs inside your own AWS account via Amazon Bedrock or your own Google Cloud project via Vertex AI. Drawing content sent for generation never touches a shared AI API, and inference costs appear on your own cloud invoice. A practical bonus: AI processing under your firm's existing cloud agreement often skips the new-vendor security review a shared-API tool triggers — Private AI is frequently faster to approve, not just safer. Both are self-service from Settings, with built-in setup guides and one-click verification tests. Details on the Security page.
Agent Access is included with every plan — a hosted MCP server at mcp.bimmonkey.ai that connects the AI assistants your team already uses (Claude on web and mobile, Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini, Codex) directly to your firm's drawing library, standards, compliance history, sheet drawings, project to-dos, and firm memory. Agent queries honor your data residency (Pro and up). The assistant you connect processes results under your firm's agreement with that vendor. Setup takes about two minutes.
Yes. Cancel anytime from your account — access continues through the end of your current billing period. Annual plans include a 30-day money-back guarantee. Monthly plans include a 14-day money-back guarantee. See the full cancellation policy.
Yes. Every plan starts with a 30-day free trial — your card is required at signup but not charged until day 31. Cancel before then and you pay nothing. Annual plans also include a 30-day money-back guarantee after the trial ends; monthly plans include a 14-day money-back guarantee.
Yes. Enterprise customers can be billed by invoice — PO numbers accepted, payment by ACH or wire, net-30 terms standard (net-45 available on annual invoices). Email [email protected] with your seat count and we'll set it up with your accounts-payable team.
Two ways to pay, your choice. Buying direct: billing is handled by Stripe, our payment partner. Your card is charged at signup — annually or monthly depending on your plan. Stripe stores your payment method securely; BIM Monkey never sees your card details. You'll receive an invoice by email after each charge, and you can update your payment method or download past invoices anytime from your account dashboard. Buying in AWS Marketplace: AWS handles billing instead — the charge appears on your existing AWS invoice under your organization's AWS payment terms, with no card or new vendor setup required. Either way, BIM Monkey never handles your payment details.
